TITLE: K-6th GRADE CAMP INVENTION INSTRUCTOR (Multiple Openings)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Certified Teacher as set by State

 

REPORTS TO:  Camp Invention Director

 

JOB GOAL:  Camp Invention Instructors engage children through hands-on, inquiry-based activities that are part of an overall storyline and theme.  Instructors will facilitate project-based learning, practicing divergent and convergent thinking, incorporating open-ended instruction, and implementing tips for teams.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Flexible, creative, and enthusiastic
  • Passionate about engaging children
  • Interested or experienced in student-led learning
  • Experience working with students grades K-6th
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment and facilities
  • Accept the responsibility and arrives punctually for activities and duties as assigned
  • Establish and maintains cooperative relations with co-workers
  • Meet and instruct assigned class at the designated time

  • Likes inspiring big ideas and building on a miniature scale.

  • Enjoys facilitating design thinking, crafting, and making.

 

Road Rally™ Instructor:

  • Has an interest in building STEM skills through simple tech.
  • Is good at creating an immersive environment for exploring ideas, designing, and making.
  • Has access to a large, open space so children can create and design vehicles that can zoom across land and have prototype elements for moving through air and water.

 

Open Mic™ Instructor:

  • Amplify campers excitement and help them explore their creative voice.
  • Enjoys tinkering and exploring how electronics work.
  • Appreciates the value of allowing children to work with real tools.

 

Duck Chuck™ Instructor:

  • Empowers children through positive reinforcement to help them overcome challenges.
  • Asks prompting questions to encourage innovative thinking and inventing.
  • Is comfortable with guiding participants through open-ended challenges.

 

PRIMARY LOCATION:  Yukon High School

 

SALARY RANGE:  ***Stipends will be issued by National Inventors Hall of Fame***

  • The following pay is based on 120 participants. Pay is subject to change if fewer students sign up.
  • New Instructor $700
  • Returning Instructor $725

  • June 21-25; 8:00am - 3:30pm
