JOB TITLE: EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATOR

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates aptitude for the work to be performed; High School Diploma; 48 College Hours OR Paraprofessional Certification

 

REPORTS TO: Teacher and Special Services Administation, ESY Principal

 

JOB GOAL: To help provide a smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources.  

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare the classroom activities under supervision of certified teacher.
2. Assist teacher with instructional classroom duties.
3. Assist teacher with non-instructional classroom duties including feeding, tube feeding, toileting (including changing diapers), clothing management, and transitions between classrooms and activities.
4. Assist with an individual child's particular needs when called upon to do so. 
5. Perform clerical duties for assigned teacher.  
6. Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may assign from time to time. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Certified Paraeducator: $14.77/hour
• Non-certified Paraeducator: $12.16/hour
• Student Aide: $9.00/hour

 

TIMES/DATES: T, W, TH - 7:45 am - 11:45 am; June 4-July 11 

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Paraprofessional Personnel.
